Pilot study of C. pneumoniae antibodies and severity of coronary artery disease (CAD), which found that several types of antibody including IgA were associated with the extent and severity of CAD. If the source of the IgA antibodies was the lung, then this suggests that persistent seeding of the coronary arteries from the lung could produce more disease.
